Bookworm Gardens is a vibrant, playful children's garden that enhances literature, the natural world, and the imagination by "Bringing Books to Life for Children, One Garden at a Time." The 1.5 acre garden offers the young and young at heart the opportunity for free, unstructured play in a beautiful and secure environment. Classes in horticulture, literature, art and cooking will be offered, as well as concerts, plays and special events. In cooperation with the owner, Jennifer Lehrke designed the garden specifically for the site and designed many of the garden's elements including the Hansel & Gretel administration building, Flags teahouse, Magic Tree House tree house, Charlotte's Web barn, The Tale of Peter Rabbit shed, McElligot's Pool pier, Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge Memorial Library, and numerous other site features.
