J Cottage

We were approached by the owner of this up north vacation cottage to design a master suite addition. A lover of historic buildings, the owner was concerned about the scale and proportion of the addition so that it blended seamlessly with the existing cottage, and yet incorporated arts and crafts architectural details that enhanced this simple, rustic cottage such as tapered stone foundation and piers, wood balustrade, and exposed rafter tails.
